About us

Associate Professor in Genetics at the Department of Biology of the University of Naples Federico II. Director of the laboratory of Genetics and Control of Vector Insects. Creator and coordinator of the STOPTIGRE project.

Research Fellow INF-ACT at the Department of Biology of the University of Naples Federico II. Her research focuses on the study of sex determination genes in mosquitoes and sandflies, the development of new systems for sex separation in mosquitoes for field application of the sterile insect technique, and field suppression experiments through the release of sterile males of A. albopictus, also involving community engagement actions with the local community.

Research Fellow INF-ACT at the Department of Biology of the University of Naples Federico II. Her research focuses on the study of protein-protein and protein-nucleic acid interactions of candidate genes involved in the genetic pathways of sex determination and sexual differentiation of vector insects, using in silico approaches, two-hybrid and one-hybrid assays, BiFC, and cellular localization assays.

INF-ACT PhD student, 39th Cycle, with a project titled “Integrated Approaches for Aedes Mosquito Control: Genetics and Community Engagement for Eco-compatible Solutions” carried out at the Laboratory of Genetics and Control of Vector Insects of the Department of Biology of the University of Naples Federico II.

Master’s thesis student in the Biology degree program (LM-6), curriculum in Molecular and Cellular Biology, at the Laboratory of Genetics and Control of Vector Insects of the Department of Biology of the University of Naples Federico II.
